Q: How do I apply to LFAS?
A: If your child is already school aged then please send your application directly to LFAS. If your child is not yet school aged, then you need to apply directly to the Langley School Board office. They are located at 4875-222nd Street Langley 604-534-7891.
Q: Do I need to send in a portfolio with my application?
A: No, we do not require a portfolio just the application. If space is available for your child we will tell you at that time what you will need to bring
Q: Can I come for a tour of LFAS?
A: We have lots of requests by people wanting to come for a tour of our school. So several times a year, we host School Information Sessions. During which, you will have the opportunity to tour the school and visit classes in session. You will receive information about the school and its programs, as well as have the opportunity to ask questions. Please view our calendar for upcoming Information Sessions.
Q: When will I be contacted about my child's application?
A: When space is available in the appropriate grade and Arts major, one of the secretaries at the school will call to arrange a time for your interview. We start interviewing grades 1 and 3 in November and grades 8-10 in the spring.
Q: What years to you bring in more students?
A: Grades 1, 3, 8 and 10 are the years that we bring in more students. All of the other grades we only replace students as they don't return.
Q: If I apply early will there be a space for my child?
A: Date and time of application are not the sole factors in determining priority of entry into alternate programs. Other factors that are considered BEFORE date and time of application are:
- Availability of space in the program.
- Students are admitted in the following order:
- In-District Siblings
- Other In-District applicants
- Out-of-District applicants
- Date and time of application are the third determinant of priority.
Q: Who do I contact if I have more questions?
A: You can call LFAS at 604-888-3113, email us at email@example.com or you can attend one of our school information sessions.
