Langley Fine Arts School is proud to have the Ol Pejeta Conservancy in Kenya, Africa as our sister school!

Who are we? We are a group of teachers, students and community members who send our money and resources directly to children in Kenya with virtually no overhead or government intervention.

What is our goal? Overwhelmed by the need in Sub-Saharan Africa, most people donít know how to respond. Our goal is to link every school in British Columbia to a sister school in Kenya.
Why is this project unique? 100% of funds raised go directly into the hands of the neediest children in Africa.

What is our philosophy? We believe that all children should have the chance to go to school. We also believe that Canadian children should be educated to be compassionate, globally minded citizens. When students have the opportunity to make a difference to another community, a spirit of compassion and generosity can inspire them to create change. Through Pa-Moja, students are given a chance to make an authentic impact on the world.

What have we done so far? We have made a ten year commitment to over 60 schools. Last year we raised $17,000. Here is what our donations bought: Over 100 bursaries allowing students to attend a year of high school. ~125 uniforms (students must have a uniform to attend school in Kenya) ~Desks and a variety of desperately needed school supplies. ~ Established a much needed nursery school in Nanyuki.

What will this do for your school? Your sister school in Kenya will communicate directly with you. Sharing the letters, art, poetry and pictures of Kenyan children will bring their life into your classroom. You will be able to celebrate when your school community can proudly state that ten Maasai teenagers can now afford a year of high school. Your collective action will infuse your school with a sense of tremendous achievement.
